Prostmortem Decomposition

Abstract
The basic morphological changes and estimation of the time since death in decomposed corpse were reviewed according to environment as in air, immersion and burial.
Postmortem decomposition is the late sign of death, a mixed process of corruption by insect larvae and animal predators, and includes unusual postmortem changes such as adipocere formation and mummification. Since the essential processes of putrefaction are dependent on the presence of organisms, the degree of decomposition is markedly influenced by several factors such as the temperature of the circumstance to which the corpse is exposed, presence of moisture, presence of clothing, invasion of insect larvae, state of the body, cause of death and other, so the estimate of the time scale for decomposed body should be performed in careful consideration of the influences of these factors.
